To maintain its quality, store your honey in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight. There’s no need to refrigerate it. Over time, natural honey may crystallise, which is a normal process. To return it to a liquid state, gently warm the jar in a bowl of warm water.

What is honey crystallisation, and is it safe to consume?

Crystallisation is a natural process where honey changes from a liquid to a solid or semi-solid state. It occurs because honey contains more sugars than can remain dissolved in liquid form. Crystallised honey is safe to eat and still retains all its natural flavours and benefits. If you prefer it in a liquid state, you can gently warm the jar in warm water.

How long does your honey last?

Natural honey has an incredibly long shelf life due to its low moisture content and acidic pH, which inhibit bacterial growth. If stored properly, it can last indefinitely. However, for the best flavour and quality, we recommend consuming it within two years of opening.
